Who is Matthew Durant?
First and foremost, Matt Durant is a teacher. For the past thirteen years, Matt has been a classroom teacher to students in kindergarten, as well as in first, third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades. He has also taught computers to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. In his classroom, he strives to create a positive, exciting atmosphere for learning by designing Webquests that lead students with diverse abilities to think at higher levels.
As a presenter, Matt has had many opportunities over the past seven years to teach others how to create and implement Webquests. Matt has worked with such notable organizations as the Massachusetts Department of Education, WGBH (Public Television and Radio), TERC, Mass Networks, MassCue, CAST, the Learning Network, and the TEC Collaborative. Now, through his work with EDCO, Matt has combined his knowledge and passion of technology integration, constructivist learning, and authentic assessment to create a presentation that will guide you to create your own Webquest.
